The Prairie Hourglass Waist Corset

A Victorian and Edwardian inspired waist corset with a fan laced back, designed to be tightened independently using a system of straps and pulleys. It can be worn from the front or back with a hook and eye closure, and tightened without assistance. The fan lacing system, patented in 1908, allows for even tension with a single pull and reflects early 20th century innovations in corsetry. This is Selkie’s first introduction of fan lacing, featured across multiple styles in the 2026 collection. Constructed with a full modesty panel, it combines traditional waist cinching with a more functional, self adjusting structure.
